Photographs I've gleaned from flea markets, junk shops and sometimes ebay. The cheaper the better. Anything with a story that can be extracted from hand written notes, location research, local histories, census records......anything. A small band of fellow enthusiasts worldwide have helped me with many of these. Of course there are always mysteries that defy research, but there's even a story inside these. All images can be viewed at super-size on Flickr.

  1. Very smart pram in the first picture. I wonder if the baskets on the pram were for hops; perhaps they were collecting them to do some home brewing. And baby John is a charmer.

  2. Beautiful pram! I wonder what the conversation between those ladies might have consisted of.

  3. What an elaborate, ornate wicker pram - you almost don't notice the baby!

  4. All different, interesting, today's prams and strollers are not such a big deal! The little fellow certainly enjoys his outing.

  5. The first photo is interesting both for the wicker pram and the fashions.

  6. John obviously wanted his hat at a different angle for the photo. Fine wicker pram and that looks like bracken in the background to the second shot.

    1. Yes, it's bracken. It's an enlarged section of this one: http://flic.kr/p/b9sx9K

  7. Nice variety ... loved the look on the lady's face in the top one, and that cute baby with the hat is just darling.

    Thanks!

  9. The first photo shows a Rolls Royce of prams, and just look at the flowers on the lady's hat! Baby John is so cute with his little hat on :-) Jo
