On the Road. 1935.

A fortunate find from a house clearance shop, this album of 36 photographs (see the complete set here) charts a motoring holiday taken by a family and their dog in 1935. Their car numberplate indicates that they probably lived in London. They toured around the western Scottish highlands, and also visited beauty spots in Yorkshire and Cumbria.

Men and their cars. 1920s

A Model T (above) with Buckinghamshire numberplates and a bored dog, and (below) enjoying a beer in a London registered car. I'd like to think the driver didn't have one, but I doubt it.

HALT! Border crossing. India?

A mysterious tiny photo of a border crossing or some sort of checkpoint. Looks like India in the 1910s. No indication of where exactly.

Women and cars

The Sepia Saturday theme tomorrow is women and cars. Here are two I've found in flea markets. The car in the top picture is a Wolseley with Surrey registration. They've stopped for drinks.
